This week we were required to read chapter nine of Hicks (2013) where it talks about the use of words. It gives examples of words that should not be used as well as words that need care when used because they have more than one meaning to them.
I will definitely refer back to this when writing and editing my other assignments because it will be useful. Until I had read Hicks (2013) there were a few words that I was not sure on or that I did not know were a mistake.
This will also be useful when writing in any further journalism courses that I enrol in, as I will need to improve greatly on many of the issues covered in (Hicks 2013).
I got 100% on my first go for the quiz, I am really happy with this result. I was certain that I would get a low score on this as I always seem to forget what most words actually mean and I repeatedly have to look up them up.
